Abstract:
Abstract It was up in the Rose Center in the American Museum of Natural History when the quarter dropped for me. It was one of those moments in life when the “obvious” gets presented, yet I needed the universe to see it. We had been waiting for our turn at the Hayden Planetarium with my — then 10-year-old — son, and as we entered the space of “the largest and most powerful virtual reality simulator in the world” and gazed in full amazement, shock, and excitement at the star-filled ceiling of this enormous room, the “outer-body” experience led me to my realization. You will surely need the virtual reality (VR) simulator for that, but let me help you imagine.
