The Dynamic Nature of ‘Materialist Man’
Graeme Snooks
Chapter 9 in Longrun Dynamics, 2000, pp 109-126 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The driving force in any dynamic model should arise from a realistic analysis of human motivation and decision-making. This can only be achieved by observing mankind in history rather than in the psychologist’s laboratory. We need, therefore, to construct an inductive model based on extensive historical research. The intention in this chapter is to construct a more realistic model of human behaviour and to show how this can provide the endogenous driving force for a new theory of longrun dynamics.
