Chapter 1 in The Concise Guide to Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures, 2007, pp 1-27 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The twenty-first century opened with two trends still firmly in place—the importance of the Internet and mergers. During the 1990s, many Internet-related stocks rose by thousands of percent. Most of those that survived the subsequent dot.bomb collapse have recovered and seen their stock prices return to higher levels than at the beginning of the dot-com era.
