Will ICTs Finally Reinvent Government? The Mutual Shaping of Institutions and ICTs

Vincent Homburg and Ig Snellen

Chapter 8 in New Public Management in Europe, 2007, pp 135-148 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract For at least a couple of decades, governments have implemented a rather heterogeneous set of private sector management techniques known as New Public Management (NPM) (see Chapters 1 and 2). In the previous chapters, it has been shown that NPM takes many forms and shapes, and is implemented in a variety of ways in diverse institutional contexts.
