The Search for a New Global Financial Architecture
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 2 in New Regulation of the Financial Industry, 2000, pp 23-45 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 1 has documented that not only has the financial market changed but it is still undergoing change. The profit margins in the banks’ classical product lines have been squeezed. There is a trend towards disintermediation in loans compensated for by trading activities, which involve a high quotient of credit risk and market risk.
