Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to review the basic components of the legal framework for private sector activities in Turkey. The chapter is organised as follows. Section 10.1 is on property rights. Section 10.2 studies contract law and Section 10.3 company law and bankruptcy law. Section 10.4 discusses competition policy, regulation in the context of competition law, state procurement, private participation in infrastructure and price regulation. Section 10.5 discusses privatisation efforts in Turkey and Section 10.6 summarises the conclusions.
