Abstract: Abstract The regions chosen for this study, according to the criterion specified in Chapter 1, are, in Europe: the European Union; in North and South America: NAFTA, MERCOSUR, the Andean Group, the Group of Three, CACM, CARICOM, and the FTAA (and the Latin American Integration Agreement); in Africa: SADC, SACU, and AEC; in Asia: ASEAN, SAARC, ANZCERTA, and APEC (see Table 3.1).
