Introduction to the New Mega Trends
Sarwant Singh
Chapter 1 in New Mega Trends, 2012, pp 1-5 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Of all the chapters in this book, I struggled most to write this introductory chapter. How do you introduce a future that is so uncertain yet so exciting, but possibly also very intrusive? How do you tell your readers that the gadgets they use in their house and workplace will be completely different ten years from now? How do you tell someone that the very city they live in will not be the same at the end of this decade, and their jobs and skill sets will completely change? How do you tell businesses that they can expect new customers and new business models in the coming future simply through the evolution of networks? Well there is one way, but first let me start by asking you something.
