Chapter 7 in Metaphor and Dialectic in Managing Diversity, 2012, pp 154-178 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Centripetal dynamics propel the different elements in the centrifuge towards a ‘centre’ and away from the margins; it is a harmonising, or homogenising force in which separate ingredients are combined into something new. Centripetal dialectics aim for the resolution of differences, whether by fusion (as in a magnet, where the two elements are indistinguishable from each other) or into a new, hybrid entity.
