Abstract: Abstract In August 1945, ’Little Boy’ and ‘Fat Man’ ended the Second World War. When the USAAF B-29 bomber Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb ‘Little Boy’ on Hiroshima on 6th August, an estimated 69 per cent of the city’s buildings were destroyed, with 80,000 persons killed immediately, and another 70,000 persons injured, with most of these wounded to die later from their burns or radiationrelated sicknesses. The immediate casualties were around 45 per cent of the total estimated population of Hiroshima.
