Abstract:
Abstract The discussion of what makes nonprofits and for-profits different from one another is still relevant. Research has touched upon the role of the non-distribution constraint (Hansmann, 1980), values or preferences of leaders (Weisbrod, 1998a), funding streams (Frumkin and Galaskiewicz, 2004) and legal status (Stark, 2010). There is usually the assumption that the identities of the organizations under study are unambiguous and their forms distinct.
