Early adopters
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in The Engaging Manager, 2012, pp 69-71 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Funny how some brands, business models and academic theories become established in the common consciousness. “Technical” phrases soon seep into everyday language. Verbs and nouns are derived from products: we “Hoover the carpet”, “Google the web”, and “Sellotape the parcel”. Individuals obtain eponymous fame with such terms as Spoonerisms, Freudian slips and Bushisms.
