Abstract: Abstract There is nothing like seeing a great ship on its side to provoke talk about the seemingly tedious topic of “safety at work”. After all, it has become popular to deride, lampoon and dismiss the “health and safety” people. They are seen as petty killjoys, imposing ridiculously obsessional behaviors on employees more out of fears of litigation than a concern for safety.
