Why change programs don’t work
Adrian Furnham
A chapter in The Engaging Manager, 2012, pp 202-204 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The concept of corporate culture seems a little old hat now. Clever consultants know that ideas need to be refreshed and reheated to sell. So “charm” became “social skills” became “emotional intelligence” became “engagement competency”. Staff departments became Personnel became HR, then the People Department and now the Talent Institute. “Abilities” became “capabilities”, then “competencies”, then “agilities”.
