The Culture Catapult

Dani Monroe

Chapter Chapter 5 in Untapped Talent, 2013, pp 67-84 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Afew years ago the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) felt compelled to define the term “talent management.” Why? Because the association’s research determined there was no standard definition for a phrase that people in business had been using for decades. So, in a 16-page white paper released in 2009, ASTD presented the following definition for talent management: “An organizational approach to leading people by building culture, engagement, capability, and capacity through integrated talent acquisition, development, and deployment process that are aligned to business goals.”1
