Cloud as a New IMC Tool: How to Make Our Marketing More Ubiquitous

Shintaro Okazaki

Chapter 6 in The Dominant Influence of Marketing in the 21st Century, 2013, pp 95-112 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract A rapid penetration of smartphone and tablet PC has opened a new era for marketers and advertisers. Computing devices are increasingly portable, with immediate and seamless access to a diverse range of apps. Such ubiquitous communication devices literally changed our marketing. Customers can now check coupons and discount information within an outlet, using near field communication (NFC) or Quick Response (QR) code. NFC has been employed in Google Wallet, an Android app that makes our mobile phone a payment tool. Furthermore, even a physical store can become ubiquitous.
