Evidence from the Trenches and Uncovering Power
Eric Bolland
Chapter Chapter 2 in Clout, 2014, pp 29-53 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The first chapter described the evolution of power in a series of three different models. The last model, the contemporary model, is the conceptual product of the book. In this chapter, a different approach will be taken. We move from the ethereal world of model making to the nitty-gritty, shell screaming, earth shuddering caldron of conflict, confusion, and sudden change that is the way of business life today. That approach will be from the trenches and will come from the men and women of middle management who are the armies of work. Much of this chapter comes from the mouths of combatants themselves.
