The Toxic Workplace
Rebekah S. Heppner
Chapter Chapter Ten in The Lost Leaders, 2013, pp 107-115 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract When the Lost Leaders reached the executive ranks, they had an insider’s view of how American corporations are run. Many of their stories are of poor leadership—and the Lost Leaders were eventually tired of the constant demands to grow the business and increase short-term profits, regardless of the long-term impact on the company or the impact on the lives of employees. Fast Company magazine once proclaimed American businesses “toxic places to work.”1 The Lost Leaders would not disagree.
