Abstract:
Abstract It is often pointed out that the information revolution is one of the most significant sources of innovation in tourism as this latter industry was among the first sectors to adopt information and communication technologies (ICTs). The accelerating and synergistic interaction between technology and tourism in recent times has brought about fundamental changes in the industry (Poon, 1993; Buhalis and Law, 2008). Since the Internet has revolutionized business operations, the most affected business functions from the technological revolution are perhaps marketing and distribution (Go and Williams, 1993).
