Dimitris N. Chorafas

Chapter 4 in Banks, Bankers, and Bankruptcies under Crisis, 2014, pp 65-86 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The rush for the creation of Euroland’s banking union started in mid- 2012 when the markets signaled their fear that Spain was a bailout risk. Then the rush slowed;while many of its original main elements have been watered down or delayed, the concept of the banking union has survived promoted by the profligate member states.
