Barriers to Transition

Linda Rossetti

Chapter Chapter 8 in Women and Transition, 2015, pp 131-145 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Early in my transition, it seemed as if I could not walk a step without encountering a barrier. Most came in the form of expectations of others about what I should or could do. I felt admonished, judged, marginalized, or worse—pushed to pretend as if nothing was happening. This maelstrom deposited me on the doorstep of barriers. I wanted to understand them more and their role in my transition.
