Chapter 2 in Post-Materialistic Business: Spiritual Value-Orientation in Renewing Management, 2015, pp 21-45 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Spirituality is people’s multiform search for a deep meaning of life that interconnects them with all living beings and with “God” or “Ultimate Reality.” Spiritually-based management can be characterized as an inclusive and holistic approach that integrates leaders’ inner perspectives on identity, purpose, responsibility and success with their decisions and actions in the outer world of business. It prioritizes basic needs over subjective preferences, commitment over self-interest, mutual trust over mutual advantage in the market, and economic democracy over shareholder capitalism.
