A chapter in Accelerated Development in Southern Africa, 1974, pp 518-519 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Professor L. Fourie pointed out that there were also economic problems involved, such as that of deflationary unemployment. In the homelands one could not reduce unemployment by increasing effective demand. Whereas fictional unemployment would not be serious in Western capitalist countries, in the homelands it was a serious problem for economic development. The solution lay in the field of politics.
