Abstract: Abstract In 1970 a project of co-ordinated research in four European countries was sponsored by the Division of Research of the Harvard Business School. Under the supervision of Professor Bruce R. Scott, field research in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy was carried out over a period of two years.
