Status, Motivation and Incentives

Arthur Brearley

Chapter 6 in The Control of Staff-Related Overhead, 1976, pp 68-81 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Again it is emphasised that the situation on status motivation and incentives varies in balance in different developed nations. Nevertheless most of the same factors are present in each nation and only the balance varies. Again it is reasonable to take the United Kingdom as a specific example, since in the U.K. the early development of industrialisation has led to a situation particularly valuable as an example for international comparison.
