Abstract:
Abstract An industry research seminar was specially set up by the Building Research Station 1963–5. The members were variously academic economists, staff of the Research Station, and members of the then Building Research Board, twelve in all. Their names and affiliations at the time were: Mr P. W. S. Andrews, Chairman, Nuffield College; Professor G. A. Barnard, Imperial College; Mr D. Bishop, Building Research Station; Mr J. R. Britten, Secretary, Building Research Station; Miss E. Brunner, Nuffield College; Mr T. A. B. Corley, University of Reading; Mr B. Cullen, Building Research Station: Mr J. B. Dick, Building Research Station; Mr M. S. Feldstein, Nuffield College; Mr J. S. Flemming, Oriel College; Mr J. Musgrove, Bartlett School of Architecture; Dr J. C. Weston, Building Research Station. Lord Llewellyn Davies was a member of the original group but other commitments prevented his attendance at later meetings. Professor Bela Gold of the University of Pittsburgh, on leave at Oxford, attended five meetings and Sir Frederick Lea, then Director of Building Research, B.R.S., was present at one meeting.
