Transformation of the Private Sector

Arthur MacEwan

Chapter 8 in Revolution and Economic Development in Cuba, 1981, pp 56-61 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The creation of an important state sector, with the associated problems of production on the state farms, was one part of the story of Cuba’s first agrarian reform. In addition, while the state sector was being created, the private sector was being transformed. Tables 6.1 and 6.2 have provided a picture of both aspects of the reform’s impact.
