The Housing Market

T. J. Gough

Chapter 9 in The Economics of Building Societies, 1982, pp 132-146 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Earlier in this work we were concerned with the determination of interest rates and the volume of funds transacted (Chapter 5). We now have to consider what effect these factors have on the housing market, and in particular on the level of house prices and the output of the building industry.
