Abstract: Abstract In 1830 Longman’s published a volume entitled Essays on Political Economy: in which are illustrated The Principal Causes of the Present National Distress; with Appropriate Remedies. There are fifteen essays in all, as well as a preliminary discussion and a conclusion. They are: 1. On the motives to industry 2. On security of property 3.
