Concluding Remarks
Neil M. Kay
Chapter 9 in The Evolving Firm, 1982, pp 143-153 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this work has been to suggest how structuralism may contribute to economics. It is built on the strong conviction that the dominance of techniques based on aggregation in economics has had a deleterious effect on the adequacy of theory building. Non-decomposable systems will always resist understanding and explanation if viewed through the distorting lens of aggregation. The solution is to change the lens, not to distort the view.
