Costs and Prices

Chapter 9 in Analysis of the British Construction Industry, 1984, pp 163-171 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The cost of construction work to the main contractor may be split into the several parts of materials, labour, management, plant, work subcontracted and overheads. His price will include profit — positive or negative — that is, he may in certain circumstances price his work in such a way that the price not only excludes any profit element, but does not make a full contribution to overheads.
