Abstract:
Abstract Marconi’s development of its Mark VII Colour Television Camera represented one of the innovations which enabled English Electric to gain the Queen’s Award to Industry in 1967. Although English Electric was taken-over by GEC in 1968, Marconi continued to operate as an autonomous subsidiary of its new parent. In the face of increasing international competition, the studio-equipment section of Marconi’s Broadcasting Division has formed a sales and marketing organisation in conjunction with GEC McMichael, which is another member of the GEC group. This organisation, formed on 1 April 1984, is known as the Marconi Studio Systems Division of GEC McMichael.
