Abstract:
Abstract For centuries, governments have been intervening in agricultural markets.1 Over the past few decades, however, there has been a considerable increase in the extent of agricultural protection and its disruptive effects on international markets. This contrasts with the post-war tendency, at least until recently, to reduce protection against imports of manufactured goods.
