A European Socialist on Japan: some brief reflections

Abstract:
Abstract In this brief note in honour of Professor Hiroshi Kitamura, I want to express my admiration for both his person and his country. About his person, a look at his curriculum vitae is enough to arouse one’s admiration. For those who, like myself, have seen him at work, the picture is more complete: a clever, efficient analyst and a charming colleague come back to memory, and, as such, an ambassador of his nation and its culture.
