The Parable of the Master Tailor and his Pair of Scissors

Jacques Riboud

Chapter 1 in The Case for a New ECU, 1989, pp 1-6 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract It is not the usual thing for a book dealing with money, and even the fundamental ideas behind the phenomenon of money, to start with a parable. Some people will think that this is a strange way of stripping money of its artifices so as to understand it better. My readers will be rather surprised; I owe them some explanation.
