Chapter 6 in Japan’s Trade Frictions, 1988, pp 130-164 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract Apart from the presentation of a sample of earlier demands made by the EC and the USA on the Japanese government to open up its markets, the previous chapter was mainly devoted to the demands made by two major groups: the United States-Japan Advisory Commission and the Advisory Group on Economic Structural Adjustment for International Harmony (Maekawa Report). The aim of this chapter is to present Japan’s response to these demands.
