The Business of the Board
Dimitris N. Chorafas
Chapter 6 in Membership of the Board of Directors, 1988, pp 108-134 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract The preceding chapter discussed the business of a board of directors, but not all pertinent subjects have yet been treated. It has, however, been said that boards often concentrate their greatest attention on contemporary or current matters though (as was emphasised), from an importance standpoint, the long-range issues should take the lion’s share of attention. It was also stated that in the larger corporations the business is mainly long range.
