Abstract:
Abstract The most suitable framework for analysing the relationship between licensor and licensee is without doubt what is commonly termed ‘institutional economics’. This refers to a line of research that is concerned with the running of businesses as both institutions and as agents on the market. According to this approach, the organisation of industries (level of integration, degree of concentration, barriers to entry, etc.) is governed to a great extent by institutional factors and not by supply and demand features.
