Theoretical and Practical Aspects of the Economic Reform in China

Suck-Kyo Ahn

Chapter 2 in Economic Reforms in the Socialist World, 1989, pp 25-35 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract Ten years have passed since China launched a major economic reform at the Third Party Congress in 1978. Judging by economic results, it seems that China has chosen the ‘right’ model for its socialist construction. The much improved living standards of the Chinese people, especially since the beginning of the 1980s, seem to provide ample evidence in support of the new policy.
