Chapter 7 in The Problem of Youth, 1991, pp 203-233 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter focuses on young workers as a declining membership category in Dutch trade unions. Union membership of young people has fallen dramatically in the Netherlands, in contrast to that in some countries, notably Sweden (LO-Statistik, 1986). While overall union membership has recently stabilised, after a dramatic reduction during the 1980s, and while women are joining unions in increasing numbers, young people appear increasingly uninterested.
