Abstract: Abstract The content of the concept of the ‘Scandinavian Model’ is probably somewhat different depending upon whether one lives in Scandinavia or one looks upon it from outside as just a group of rather homogenous countries. If a resident, one is likely to be more conscious of differences than similarities. I will concentrate on the Swedish economy as the archetypal example of the Model and leave minor nuances for another time.
