Abstract:
Abstract The Pacific Area developing countries attained high rates of economic growth in the 1963–87 period, the exception being the Philippines. Per caput incomes increased approximately five times in the East Asian NICs (six times in Singapore); among the East Asian NECs, they rose approximately three times in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand while the increase was less than half in the Philippines.
