Soviet cooperatives and the labour market

Silvana Malle

A chapter in Privatization and Entrepreneurship in Post-Socialist Countries, 1992, pp 275-305 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract With the approval of the law on cooperatives in 1988, the Soviet government paved the way for the development of private activity. This law made it possible, in principle, for cooperative members working full or part-time to conduct their own industrial and commercial businesses.
