The Effects of the Lomé Conventions on LDACs

Volker Wulf

Chapter 5 in The Least Developed and the Oil-Rich Arab Countries, 1992, pp 64-81 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract The Least-Developed Arab Countries (LDACs) — Sudan, Somalia, Mauritania, Djibouti, the Arab Republic of Yemen (North Yemen) and the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen) — differ considerably with regard to political systems, economic structures, geographic situation and historical experiences. Common to all of them is their active membership in the Arab League and the adherence to Islam by the majority of the population.
