Abstract:
Abstract William Whewell (1794–1866) was a Cambridge scientist and Master of Trinity College, who, as shown in my Early Developments in Mathematical Economics,1 had already made a contribution to mathematical economics before 1838 in two papers, which he had read to the Cambridge Philosophical Society in 1829 and 1831.2
