Financial Policy

Patricia Hillebrandt and Jacqueline Cannon

Chapter 4 in The Modern Construction Firm, 1990, pp 48-59 from Palgrave Macmillan

Abstract: Abstract In order to explain the various elements which make up the financial policies of the firms which were visited, it is important to differentiate between three groups 1. the companies which are contracting businesses and part of large corporations; 2. those which are mainly involved in contracting but are public limited companies in their own right; 3. those which in one way or another — that is, in terms of ownership or management — can still be described as ‘family firms’.
