Abstract:
Abstract Because, as we saw in Chapter 1, from the virtual corporation to the virtual market-place the business opportunities of telecommunications networks are expanding, designing reliable communication protocols is becoming an increasingly complex and challenging task. They need to be not only reliable but also efficient — hence, instrumental in servicing a growing number of distributed, realtime mission-critical applications.
