Abstract:
Abstract Attitudes towards foreign direct investment (FDI), especially at the regional level, tend to be strongly polarised between those who perceive it as an aid to regional development, and thus something to be encouraged, and those who regard it as a process that will retard economic growth and displace indigenous industry (Collis and Noon, 1994).
