A Sense of Purpose

Abstract:
Abstract It may seem a strange phrase to use in a business context. The prime definition of ‘purpose’ is ‘a goal to be attained’ but ‘sense of purpose’ does not appear as a derivative phrase even in the New Shorter Oxford English Dictionary. But think about those people you know who have a sense of purpose — they seem to put so much more into their lives and get so much more out. And it is the same for people in an enterprise — when they have a sense of purpose they both give and receive so much more. It seems so obvious and right when we are trying to create an enterprise with which people identify and in which there is mutual commitment.
