Cohen and Fowler

Chapter 4 in The Small Business Casebook, 1979, pp 80-92 from Palgrave Macmillan
Abstract:
Abstract During the spring of 1975, Cohen and Fowler, a small firm of solicitors, was faced with the need to monitor and control its cash flow on a more formal basis than it had done in the past. Two factors had contributed to the situation. First, the practice had recently moved premises, incurring a substantial increase in rental; and, secondly, three of its major clients had gone into liquidation as a result of the fall in the property market, leaving the firm with a large amount of fees owing and irrecoverable.
